Topographic Surveys
Johnson-McAdams Surveying and Mapping, LLC provides Topographic Surveying and Mapping Services for many types of projects. Automated topographic surveys have been performed using automated OTF/RTK surveying systems as well as conventional Total Stations with Data Collectors formatted for entry into the company’s CADD system. JMc crews have performed plans and specification surveys and site condition surveys for hundreds of projects.
Field data comes into the office in data collector file format, then mapping is performed using the firm’s integrated automated mapping systems for the preparation of planimetric, contour and ownership mapping. The firm’s personnel and equipment enables processing of the final product in any client-specified format required. Mapping can be provided in both MicroStation or AutoDesk platforms. Additional information can be generated from 3D models such as cross-sections, profiles, volume computations and comparative or monitoring surveys. The firm’s crews also have the capacity to process and map field data on site for emergency type surveys.
Johnson-McAdams has eleven (11) Trimble OTF/RTK GPS Systems that are compact and highly mobile, each consisting of two receivers with Real Time Kinematic (RTK) and On-the-Fly (OTF) options. These differential GPS systems allow the survey team to work freely throughout suitable sites and gather centimeter accuracy data in the data collector real time. These systems combined with all-terrain vehicles provide fast and high accuracy control for topographic surveys. Our field personnel are experienced in performing topographic surveys using Dual Frequency Vehicle Mounted OTF GPS and RTK, or Quick Static systems.
